When car wax is applied, it provides a thin layer of protection to the clear coat and has 1 to 3 months of durability. Automotive wax is a combined blend of carnauba mixed with other natural oils, like beeswax. These ingredients allow wax to be used as a protectant and shine enhancer. Wax polishes the clear coat and brings out the color and shine of the car. Secondly, city dust and atmospheric fallout tend to damage your paint in various ways. A microscopically thin layer of wax on top of the paint prevents or reduces damaging chemical interactions with these pollutants. Natural car waxes tend to give more of a warmer gloss compared to sealants.
